Play Doh Eaters

It didn't really surprise me when it happened, I was more surprised at the amount, a 1/4 jar to my estimates...You have guessed it by now Play Doh...Now it has no nutritional value so why do they eat it..It's like a right of passage into toddler hood of sorts...I don't even see the first bites go in. Perhaps it's the way it squishes through there fingers, maybe the sharp scent it has or it could be the creative freedom, that always leads to kids tasting it, some kids just lick it, but I do know there is a real connection between the kids who eat Play Doh and the kids who eat Paste....I have a great recipe and what ever you do don't try and remove from the carpet or clothing with water...let it dry and then scrape it off.....
2 c boiling water
1/2 c salt
2 tbsp oil
1/2 c salt
1 container of Alum
2 c flour
Food coloring and scent (essential oils or all spice)
Add the salt and oil to boiling water then all dry ingrediants, store in a air tight container and it will last for months....if they dont eat it......

Farmgirl Chicks

What is it about women & their chickens??? I suspect that right now there are hundreds of women, both urban and country, explaining to their reluctant husbands why it is they want a flock of chickens, or maybe six, or at least one laying hen...Well, as you know there is no male at this house so Chicks Rule.....All I had to do was muster up the confidence to drive down I-5 with a chicken co0p in the back of my truck...... Fresh eggs make a kitchen complete, especially when gathered in an apron. Chickens bask in the sun and roll in the dirt, just like the kids and I...City chickens are the latest in child - friendly pets...but us farm girls have always know that....We will have pullet eggs by the end of October, what a wonderful life lesson....k

Summr Time Fun

I will recap the summer for you, it went by fast and the kids have really grown from being in the fresh air and sunshine....they all ate good (Food Inc was my summer movie) and they slept good (yeah!!!) and they have learned that chicks turn into chickens.....The color green is everywhere and that when it's really hot outside (103) humans melt like ice....Slip and Slides are really fun and you have to dig deeper for worms in the summer (the ground is dry)...They learned sunscreen isn't so bad and that potty training in the summer seems so logical, Otter Pops are really good...Story time on the front porch is so nice (coffee to) and picking your own raspberries is a privilege !!!! Thank you Moms and Dads for all the encouragement, and patience with us all....k
